LORI HANAU
Founder & Principal
Lori Hanau is the founder of Global Round Table Leadership (GRTL), a training and coaching company dedicated to providing transformational learning and leadership development for conscious companies, campuses and networks. Lori is also a faculty partner and Co-Chair of Marlboro College’s Graduate and Professional Studies management programs. Lori works to foster group vitality through her advising, facilitation and co-creative practices, including GRTL’s Shared Leadership Framework™ and The Compassionate Accountability Process™. She also works as an advisor, coach, and guide for other founders, CEO’s, ED’s and leadership teams whose organizations focus on systemic change with an emphasis on social, economic and environmental justice.
Lori launched GRTL in 2002 after leaving her role as President and COO in the manufacturing sector to pursue her commitment to support the flourishing of people and organizations. She has training and expertise in the areas of mindfulness, martial arts, healing arts, spirituality, entrepreneurialism, social impact and mission-driven business. Lori is proud to serve on the Board of Advisors for The Of Many Institute for Multifaith Leadership at New York University. Lori has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Social Venture Network. Lori is a founding member of the Nature Based Leadership Institute (NBLI), at Antioch University New England, and also a founding consultant of the Center for New Leadership at Marlboro College. She writes a regular column on Shared Leadership for Conscious Company Magazine. In 2002, Lori co-founded the Mindfulness Practice Center in Keene, NH, where she also resides.
MELISSA WHITTEMORE
Executive Assistant
Melissa Whittemore earned her BA in Liberal Arts from Vermont College in 2003. Her academic pursuits in women’s studies, gender and cultural studies, writing, and art have fostered in her a love for beauty, reflection, and connection. She has been at GRTL since early 2009, and her warm and friendly nature, attention to detail and organizational skills have added greatly to the vibrancy to the office. Melissa’s deep sense of spirituality, her compassion, integrity, and care for others drive her desire to create a more equitable society. She brings these and many other qualities to bear in her work at GRTL.
TRAVIS HELLSTROM
Partner
Travis Hellstrom is a coach, professor, entrepreneur and author who loves helping optimists change the world. At GRTL he brings his expertise to support our clients with strategy, operations and essentialism. Travis is also Chair in the School of Leadership & Management at Marlboro College's Graduate School. He is founder of the Optimist Center, a coaching and retreat space in Vermont, as well as Advance Humanity, one of the first dozen Certified B Corporations in Vermont alongside Ben & Jerry’s, Seventh Generation, and King Arthur Flour. He is the author of eight books including the Dalai Lama Book of Quotes and the Peace Corps Volunteer's Handbook.
Travis has a passion for helping social entrepreneurs, social businesses and nonprofits expand their influence and make a difference in the world. He served for three years with the Peace Corps in Mongolia where he met the love of his life and helped lead the first Certified B Corps in Asia, before becoming a Peace Corps Fellow at SIT Graduate Institute. There he received his Masters in Management focusing on nonprofit and social business management, with his thesis work on Certified B Corps, shared leadership and happiness at work. SEBASTIAN MITRE

Sebastian is a Mexican American social entrepreneur, activist, multifaceted artist (actor, muralist, filmmaker) and a transpersonal coach. Sebastian attended the University of Maryland and the Marlboro College's MBA program, specializing in Collaborative Leadership. He brings several years of experience working as a creative in the film industry in Mexico. As a social entrepreneur, he managed the launch of FinSocial, a Mexico City micro-finance corporation inspired by the work of Professor Muhammad Yunus who established the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.
In addition to his business education and experience, Sebastian trained as an actor at the Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute in NY with many lifetime members of the Actors Studio. Sebastian has been a mindfulness meditator for 15 years, receiving monastic Zen training at the Bodhi Manda Zen Center in New Mexico.
Sebastian is Co-Founder of Sokoki Studios, a collaborative mural business focused on raising awareness on global issues and utilizing the powerful universal language of art to change public spaces to promote collaboration, understanding, and community healing.
Sebastian lives in Vermont and can be found spending his time outdoors with his wife Chichi and bunny Professor Walnut.
Tristan Toleno

Tristan is an active triple-sector leader with multiple roles and responsibilities bridging business, non-profits, higher education and public policy. Recently, his work has been primarily in complex systems and emergent practices addressing organizational actors within group process, social networks and public policy discourse. He engages these topics as a practitioner, rather than as a theorist, as his work, volunteer and intellectual life have converged around multiple complex public policy and social impact arenas.
Wearing his many “hats” as a practitioner allows him to offer unique angles of insight and perspective to any given topic. He is as comfortable engaging in business model design as he is in non-profit governance or public policy.
KATE MCGGOWAN
Coaching, Design & Training
Kate McGowan has been known to describe herself as a recovering CPA and an accidental, but happy tourist, in the mission-driven sector. She is a trainer, facilitator, consultant and coach with over 30 years of working in different capacities with nonprofit and for-profit organizations, coalitions and communities, she understands the importance and challenges of leadership, change management, communication, evaluation, continuous learning and team building.
She is currently the part-time Director of Center for New Leadership at Marlboro College and the owner of Kate McGowan Consulting, LLC. She’s been the Executive Director for United Way of Addison County and for Addison County Humane Society for a combined 18 years. She began her career at Price Waterhouse as an auditor in Los Angeles and Century City, CA and then for 10 years lead her own consulting practice in Pasadena, CA, providing services to minority & women-owned businesses and nonprofit organizations in a Federally Designated Enterprise Zone and building an awesome team of women returning to the workforce after pausing their careers to raise their children.
DHRUVA Jagasia
Digital Wizard & Community Builder
Dhruva is an entrepreneur, digital marketer, and yoga teacher focused on creating social and environmental good through conscious business, digital community building, intentional practice and contemplation on and off the mat. He brings several years of business, branding, design, marketing, and web development expertise and experience to GRTL.
Dhruva is the Founder of Dharma Eyewear, an eyewear brand dedicated to environmental and social change. He spent several years working in the eyewear industry on product sourcing and development with brands such as Nike, Calvin Klein, Ray-Ban, and Michael Kors. He recently completed his 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training from Abhaya Yoga in Brooklyn. Dhruva is a graduate of Marlboro College's MBA program, specializing in Conscious Business & Sustainability Management.
